I'm Ann! I was born in New Orleans and raised in Fort Walton Beach, Fl. For the past 40 years, I have been a hairstylist, colorist, extension specialist, curriculum developer, entrepreneur, businesswoman and educator, in this amazing cosmetic Arts Industry. Corrective color, Dimensional color and Design cuts are my absolute favorite.

Making the decision while a junior in high school, that I was going to be a Cosmetologist, I got all my classes done leaving my senior year available for Cosmetology school at the new Vocational Center.

Four Decades is a long time to devote to an industry, but this is my happy place. Graduating Beauty school in April 1979, I passed my Boards and was licensed to pursue my career. I landed a job at JC Penny Salon, in Santa Rosa Mall and found some mentors that took my through some tough times, being a new stylist. I studied their skills and absorbed all the information that my mind could take in. We didn't have internet and You-Tube, only watching other stylists, reading magazines and taking in all the shows available is how we continued to grow as stylists. After spending 2 years at Penny's I moved on to a smaller salon for a few more years and then decided it was time to venture out on my own. I opened a 2 chair salon in Downtown Fort Walton Beach and built a great clientele for about 18 years. During the last years, my beauty school instructor was retiring and a position was opening, so I decided to go for the interview and got the job! I stopped taking new clients and gradually closed my salon.

Becoming an instructor/educator was very exciting but also had its challenges. I attended UWF in order to acquire the degree I needed to teach and from there I spent many hours studying, working on curriculum changes to keep up with the changes in our industry. During my time at VoTech, I was blessed to work with many platform artists and studying under them to learn everything I could about the different paths that our industry has to offer.

I moved to Pensacola State College becoming the Cosmetic Arts Coordinator. I proudly send many new graduates off to begin their new career. I spent countless hours working with students and traveling around the country making sure to stay involved and up to date in the industry. Mentoring students who completed in skills they had learned that would prepare them even better for real life situations. Many were competing at regional, state and National levels.

My next adventure was to get back to work behind the chair again. My daughter and I opened our salon in 2015 in Navarre, FL. We continue to offer a wide variety of services, my favorite being Corrective Color, Dimensional Color and Designer Cuts, along with keeping hair healthy. Working on a team where we can bounce ideas off one another just adds to our dedication to provide the best client experience.
